New Bracken House, St Paul’s

Friday St, City OF LONDON EC4M

External hoardings and Site Accommodation were provided for McLaren’s facelift of this listed building for the return home of the Financial Times after 30 years. The FT’s new Head Office integrates contemporary design alongside the old FT Printworks.

External works comprised 2.4m perimeter hoardings to McLaren Standard, primarily fixed to scaffold, with a section fixed to concrete blocks and braced to podium wall. Low-level boxing was installed to form a tunnel with a 1.5m soffit. 7m wide bi-folding vehicle gates were installed, braced to blocks.

The 400m2 Site Accommodation fit-out in the basement was primarily dry lining with some MFC partitions for site offices and welfare with full decoration; new ceilings, new sub floor and carpets together with temporary plumbing and electrics.
